Resentment

No person of fine character & desirous of legitimately earning position and achievement wants to be handed either without having actually worked to earn them.

Michelle O. wears her trademark arms. She believes they are stylish & attractive.

BO snubbed British Prime Minister Brown by downscaling the PM's first visit to Washington since BO's ascension.

In the traditional first-meeting gift exchange, BO handed nothing more than 25 classic American films on DVD to the PM on his visit. Mrs. BO presented the PM's children each a plastic model helicopter that sells for $4.11.
It is not that Mr. & Mrs. BO fail to have good taste, fail to understand diplomatic protocol, don't want to dress appropriately for formal occasions, and do not understand the importance of good manners.

Obviously not. Mr. & Mrs. BO have no class...? Are the American people so classless themselves that they might have selected classless people to be the President of the United States of America?

Resentment spurs Mr. & Mrs. BO. They are victims of Affirmative Action programs that justifiably engender animosity, resentment, and vengeance toward accepted norms, the right thing to do, and the society that hands them too much before they have worked and earned it.

Mr. & Mrs. BO don't want parity, that once dreamed of equality. They want to parody the America that was cruel enough to freely accept and promote them for reasons of their difference, rather than reasons of their earned achievement.

People of minority groups who have character and embody a strong work ethic know they don't belong when they have not legitimately earned their positions. They realize that they have, in the first place, been perceived as less worthy and therefore given extra points for no reason other than they were different in ways that society perceived as being less capable. Affirmative Action programs ensure that recipients will feel less worthy. After the unearned promotion -- the push to the front of the line -- minority people have difficulty earning other peoples' respect and acceptance because they are seen as not having fully paid their dues.
Proud, able, thinking people of of all sort, including minority groups, ask themselves, "Why else might I be in need of Affirmative Action programs?" They ask themselves openly and subliminally "why". These high-charactered individuals carry the stigma of not having actually achieved as much as those whom they displaced and whose places they have taken.
Mr. & Mrs. BO know that they were handed priority positions at college entrance time, when selected for their jobs, and in the winning of the presidential election. In each case they know in their hearts that they were not treated fairly. They were moved ahead due to society's perception that they were less able and therefore need extra points. They know that they were grouped with others who were perceived as less able. In their integrity they carry the understanding that their differences caused them to be handed unearned points, positions, and titles. That feeling naturally causes Affirmative Action recipients to resent the people and society that handed them undeserved rewards .

Surely people of minority groups wonder why they are selected out, handed special prerogatives and favors, and moved to the front of the line.
When anyone of integrity is handed excess, he knows that he was perceived as undeserving or less able to make progress on his own without extra points. Resentment is the product.
